The Pritzker Prosecution: How a Billionaire Gov. Used Biden's DOJ As His Personal Collection Agency

The Biden DOJ's weaponization of federal law enforcement was not limited to chasing political enemies of the Left's choosing. Sometimes the machine was turned on entrepreneurs who simply got in the way of the wrong billionaire. The story of Rishi Shah, founder of Chicago health-tech company Outcome Health, is one of the most flagrant examples of this abuse. It comes with a twist the national press has almost entirely ignored: the governor of Illinois stands to personally pocket a massive payday from the very prosecution he helped set in motion.
The DOJ brought criminal charges against Shah after candidate for Governor Pritzker and other investors pushed for control of a successful company after a Wall Street Journal article reported that a sales executive at Outcome Health had been inflating advertising metrics. It should be noted that the article ultimately reflected that there was no evidence senior leadership was aware.
What followed was a cascade of government misconduct that would have appalled any first-year law student, something Elon Musk called “Troubling.” Prosecutors illegally seized over $10 million of Shah's assets.
