LG Kavinder Approves Notional Annual Increments for Ladakh Employees
Leh : The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, has approved the grant of notional annual increments for the probation period to employees appointed under the Jammu & Kashmir Special Recruitment Rules, 2015 (SRO-202).The decision aims to ensure fairness, uphold service parity, and provide a level playing field to employees in Ladakh by recognizing their rightful service entitlements.Under the approved provision, annual increments that were not granted during the probation period will now be added on a notional basis. This will result in an upward revision of Basic Pay and place employees at the appropriate stage in the pay matrix.The revised Basic Pay will have a positive impact on future financial benefits, including Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances linked to pay. It will also ensure more favorable pay fixation at the time of promotion.Additionally, the move is expected to enhance retirement benefits such as pension, gratuity, and leave encashment, as these are calculated on the basis of the last drawn pay.Official sources stated that the decision brings employees in Ladakh at par with their counterparts in other States and Union Territories, addressing long-standing pay disparities.Employees have welcomed the announcement, describing it as a just and morale-boosting initiative by the Administration.
