A search is underway for a man who went missing after a canoe flipped over in Donner Lake on Wednesday.

A canoe carrying two men flipped over in Donner Lake on Wednesday afternoon. One of the men was rescued from the water by a windsurfer who happened to be nearby, according to a post Thursday by the Truckee Police Department. The other man is still missing.

A search for the missing man is underway, with multiple agencies, air resources, boats and dive teams sweeping the lake. Search efforts were suspended temporarily overnight but resumed again Thursday morning at first light.
