A spectacular cosmic phenomenon took place over San Francisco’s most famous landmark Friday, and according to local astronomers, it’ll likely be visible again throughout October.

Nature photographer and videographer Shreenivasan Manievannan captured time-lapse footage of a comet that appeared to be drifting above the city skyline around 6 a.m. on Sept. 27. To perfectly frame it above the Golden Gate Bridge, he positioned his camera at Point Bonita about 6 miles away, he told SFGATE. The recent heat wave, he explained, made for clear skies and ideal shooting........
