A troubled SF hotel selling for $11 million still has 'long-term tenants' inside

The former Civic Center Inn at 790 Ellis St. was previously advertised for $21 million but is now selling for about $10 million less than its original asking price, a new real estate listing shows.

The price for a beleaguered 82-room hotel in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District has been slashed from $21 million to $11 million, a new Redfin listing shows. The graffitied property, which is “closed and in need of renovations,” according to the listing, is at 790 Ellis St. — and is still home to people who may be squatting in the building, as previously reported.
