49ers lose star wide receiver for season with devastating knee injury

LATEST Oct. 21, 3:30 p.m. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday that San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk not only has a torn ACL, but a torn MCL as well along with "other damage" to his right knee. Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the ACL and MCL damage in a conference call with reporters, and shared that Aiyuk would have season-ending surgery.
Oct. 20, 5 p.m. San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after Sunday's game that the team fears Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL in his right knee during the 28-18 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
"Not confirmed yet, but we'll find out for sure tomorrow," Shanahan said.
