Either gratitude or recollection of trauma may be triggered by today’s atmosphere.

Documentation is a valuable help to our personal history.

Know when it’s time to hit the reset button.

Consider the value of writing a gratitude memoir.

We often think of memoir writing as the depiction and recreation of past experiences. However, this particular time in our lives is rich with opportunities to capture thoughts and feelings in a present day memoir. Unlike a personal journal, memoir reflections are to be shared with others.

Just think of the array of emotions encountered in these few months: From graduations and family celebrations to World Cup games and patriotic parades. Political divisions seemed to dissipate on soccer fields and basketball counts. And despite the rivalry, players on both teams displayed admirable moments of respect for one another.

A memoir might be a reflection of this current time and how events affect you. To these, incorporate an earlier memory or memories, and a memoir begins to take shape.

Either gratitude or recollection of trauma may be triggered by today’s atmosphere

Conversely you might recall trauma........
