Stock Market: Sensex jumps over 500 points; Nifty nears 24,000

Stock Market today: The BSE Sensex jumped 517.85 points to 77,149.78 in early trade on Friday. The NSE Nifty gained 189.50 points to 23,964.60.

Mumbai: The Stock Market opened in positive on Friday. The BSE Sensex jumped 517.85 points to 77,149.78 in early trade today. The NSE Nifty gained 189.50 points to 23,964.60.

US natural gas futures rose slightly to $2.67 per MMBtu on Friday but remained near a seventeen-month low, weighed down by a larger-than-expected storage build and weak demand outlook.

The dollar index remained steady near 99 on Friday but was on track to decline more than 1% for the week, as easing oil prices following a US-Iran ceasefire reduced inflation and rate hike concerns.

WTI crude futures rose above $98 per barrel on Friday, supported by supply disruptions and escalating geopolitical tensions, although prices remained on track for a weekly decline exceeding 10% after the US-Iran ceasefire.
