According to most leading scientists Planet Earth is entering its 6th Mass Extinction Event and it’s due to us humans who have proliferated across the planet, polluting and radically altering the environment. Humans have set off a chain of events that could lead to a massive or a catastrophic decrease in biodiversity.

Tens of thousands die in wars in Ukraine, Gaza and Sudan. And Dictatorships abound in Africa and Asia. Criminal gangs, civil wars, terrorism and famine plague the world. and we have seen back-to-back hurricanes, catastrophic flooding, devastating typhoons and severe drought. The weather is giving us both droughts and floods.

And many scientists are warning us that global warming is advancing closer to disastrous tipping points that will impact our planet for centuries to come. Today’s 6th Mass Extinction Event features a very rapid extinction rate between 500 and 1,000 times faster than previous extinction events. Estimates are that tens of thousands of species may be gone within the next few decades.

Dating is difficult, and millions of people live alone and are lonely. In the USA Americans are now less likely to be married and much more likely to live alone. In 1949, 78.8% of all households contained married couples. In 2022, 73 years later, only 47.3% of households had married couples. That is a drop of 31 points. Single-person households increased more than fivefold since 1960, from 7 million to 37 million. Single-person households were 3.8% of all households in 1960. In 2022, they were 11.1%, an increase of almost 200%.

Divorce rates increased from 1990 to 2021. In 1990, 6.8% of men were currently divorced. By 2021, that figure was 8.4%. The divorce rate peaked for men in 2013 at 9% and has declined slightly. The percentage of currently divorced women grew from 9.4% to 11% from 1990 to 2021, an increase of almost 20% for female divorces.

In 2011 the “Arab Spring” filled most of the world with great hopes. Now, over 13 years later, the near east is filled with conflicts, anxieties, fears, and despair. Anti-Muslim politics in India, like the Hindu radical organizations Bajrang Dal, Ram Sena, and other hate mongers, are getting steadily worse.

According to a worldwide poll for Reuters back in May of 2012 “nearly 15 percent of people worldwide believe the world will end during their lifetime”. That number is surely higher now.

Indeed, the whole world is facing humanity’s greatest threat; climate change. The Latest Permian Mass Extinction was the largest extinction in Earth’s history to date, killing between 80–90% of life forms on Planet Earth. Though it happened over 250 million years ago, there are similarities to the major climate changes happening today.

Then it was a massive injection of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere from massive volcanism occurring at a huge deposit of lava called the Siberian Traps. Today it is a massive injection of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere worldwide from human activities.

“Whether they think it [the world] will come to an end through the hands of God, or a natural disaster or political events, whatever the reason, one in seven thinks the end of the world is coming,” said Keren Gottfried, research manager at Ipsos Global Public Affairs which........
