Misguided effort
Legislators are rushing forward with a misguided bill that will have disastrous effects on pharmacy-care access and affordability in Arkansas.
House Bill 1150 seeks to ban CVS Health and others from conducting pharmacy operations in Arkansas. The bill, which was passed out of the Senate Wednesday and is on its way to Gov. Sarah Sanders for consideration, threatens community pharmacy care for the Arkansans we serve.
HB1150 will force the closure of 23 CVS Pharmacy locations in Arkansas by the start of 2026.
As chief pharmacy officer of CVS Health, I am writing to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to meeting the health-care needs of communities across Arkansas, and to warn of the dire consequences that could occur if we are forced to stop pharmacy operations here.
