President Kamala Harris?
Calls from within the Democratic Party for President Joe Biden to step out of the presidential race continue to grow following his shaky debate performance against Donald Trump last Thursday.
As the panic continues to reverberate through the party, several names have been bandied about as possible replacements: California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, to name a few.
But the person who some might say is the most obvious choice – the person who would naturally assume the responsibility of leading the nation if Biden were incapacitated this moment – appears to be an afterthought in many conversations.
That person, of course, is Vice President Kamala Harris.

Experts are divided on whether Harris would be the right fit to replace the president in the upcoming election. Some say her ties to the Biden campaign and less-than-ideal poll numbers would work to her disadvantage, while others argue that her ties to the campaign would actually be an asset and contend that she’s the best option.
