Obama endorses Iowa Democrat Josh Turek for Senate

Former President Obama on Wednesday endorsed Josh Turek, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Iowa.

In a roughly two-minute video Turek’s campaign shared on YouTube, the state representative takes on Obama in a game of IOWA — a variation of the basketball shoot-around game HORSE.

Turek, who was born with spina bifida and has used a wheelchair since childhood, won two gold medals playing for the U.S. men’s national wheelchair basketball team in the Paralympics. Obama is a diehard basketball fan who roots for the Chicago Bulls and reveals his March Madness picks each year.

During their game, the two discussed their Mount Rushmore of the greatest NBA players ever — with Obama putting Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson on his list, and Turek including Jordan, James, Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Russell.
