Someone asked former President Jimmy Carter what he thought were the most important things that you couldn’t see, and that was his list. Although they weren’t visible things, he called them “guiding lights of a life.”

Do they guide you?

For me, most of the time, but I admit, not always. I hope that they guide me. When I am tired, cranky, frustrated or angry, it’s hard to see beyond the moment. That’s when it’s time for a very deep breath and the realization that it is just a moment, and it will pass.

Doesn’t it nearly always?
