I am not sure why I am even wasting my time writing this column, except that the last two I wrote were serious. This one? Let’s put in the “You Can’t Be Serious” file.

A research company called PromoGuy — with nothing better to do, evidently — did a study of 2,000 “sportsy” Americans. It found that 1 out of 20 of these exercising fanatics “admits to occasionally wearing unwashed sportswear for at least a month.”

First of all, eww! And, second, who cares? Couldn’t you have lived another day without knowing that?

But let’s bring it closer to home, in case you do care and can stand the stench: 26% of exercising New Yorkers don’t........
