There is so much wrong, in so many ways, with John Murtari’s column Monday suggesting that the charges against the Clyde-Savannah students accused of sexually assaulting another student and videotaping it be dropped.

First of all, a review of grand jury minutes and requesting dismissal of charges is part of the routine court process, as Murtari should know from his many connections with the criminal justice system. It is nothing special in this case. It was not a special motion, imploring the case be dismissed because, as Murtari said, the teens realized what they did was wrong and learned their lesson.

Say you’re sorry? OK, all better? Definitely not all better.
