POSITIVE VIBES: The positivity of doors closing

They say when one door closes another opens. I find it can be good positivity practice to think about the main times in my life when one door closed (either by my fault or not) which hurt at the time but led to a better fitting door opening.

The first time this happened to me was in 1980. I had just graduated from college. My life was fun. I was going to judo three nights a week, playing softball two nights and tennis in between. I didn’t have a care in the world. I also didn’t have any money. I found a job with a local accounting group writing basic programs for them and answering the phone for an hour when others were at lunch. I liked the basic programs.

One night I went to judo and was thrown by a white belt. I landed wrong. My shoulder hurt but I didn’t think much of it. That night, though, it kept pounding so I went to the ER. Turns out I had a broken clavicle. No sports for me........
