As far as I know, the only person in direct communication with the late Sen. John McCain’s ghost is Donald Trump, in whose head McCain seems to have purchased vacation property.

We got a sense of that not long ago when Trump staged a grotesquely inappropriate campaign photo event at Arlington National Cemetery.

It occurred during the week of the sixth anniversary of McCain’s death and caused some to recall the way Trump disparaged the five years of torture McCain spent in a North Vietnamese prison camp, and how he said of McCain, “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”

These things come up with some regularity and members of the media are reminded, again, of what The New Yorker magazine called Trump’s “unhinged obsession” with McCain, even after his death.

It seems lately that McCain has expanded his haunting parameters, however,........
