Most of us will face imposter syndrome at some point in our lives. This psychological phenomenon, in which individuals doubt their accomplishments and fear being exposed as frauds, can persist despite clear evidence of competence. People who experience imposter syndrome often attribute their success to external factors such as luck rather than recognize their own abilities and efforts.

Most often, the phenomenon is discussed in the context of professional experience. However, it can also sneak up on people as they age, making them question their capabilities and self-worth.

Key Characteristics of Imposter Syndrome

Self-Doubt: Persistent questioning of one’s abilities and accomplishments.

Fear of Exposure: An ongoing fear of being "found out" or exposed as a fraud.

Attribution to External Factors: Success is often attributed to luck or timing rather than to personal ability.

Perfectionism: Setting excessively high standards leads people to feel unworthy........
