The Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj is not just about holy dips and washing away your sins as per popular beliefs. Several organisations are also striving to fulfil social responsibilities as crores of people arrive for the biggest religious congregations. This over-one-and-a-half-month-long religious event starting from January 13 till February 25 will see many organisations and akharas holding free camps where food, water, and lodging will be provided to the visiting pilgrims. Amid this, several organisations are also holding free eye camps and setting a target of distributing 11 lakh plants to foster the message of a green environment and reduce carbon footprints, ensuring the event is plastic-free and the Ganga remains clean.

There is a target of treating five lakh patients in the Netra Kumbh being organised in the Maha Kumbh area. Called the Netra Chikitsa Mahayagna, a record five lakh people have been targeted to be treated by eye specialists coming from several cities of the country. Plans are also afoot to give spectacles free of charge. The organisers are planning to distribute 3 lakh spectacles and examine 5 lakh eyes........
