Marka-e-Haq
On May 10, 2025, Pakistan's ISPR declared the conclusion of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos – the Qurʼanic phrase for a wall of solid, well-compacted lead – and with it, the victorious end of Marka-e-Haq, the Battle of Truth. Within forty-eight hours, India was seeking a ceasefire through international channels. Within a year, its generals were on television promising that “Operation Sindoor 2.0” would be “harsh” – a word that tells you far more about the humiliation preceding it than the resolve supposedly informing it.
The conflict stretched from April 22 to May 10, 2025. India’s Operation Sindoor struck civilian infrastructure and places of worship, citing the Pahalgam incident as justification. Pakistan’s response was calibrated, multi-domain, and devastating in its precision: twenty-six Indian military targets were hit, 8 aircraft were downed, the S-400 in Udhampur was struck, BrahMos depots in Beas were neutralised, and India’s military grid was partially disabled through cyber operations. The ceasefire came, not on India’s terms, but through its plea.
Begin, as one must, with Pahalgam. BJP’s pattern is now documented with uncomfortable regularity: when political intervention is required, a terrorist incident materialises. The 2019 Pulwama bombing preceded IIOJK’s annexation, and Pahalgam preceded its consolidation. No Indian institution – judiciary, press, or parliament – has seriously investigated either coincidence........
