Zohran Mamdani wants to be seen as a man of courage. He wants to project moral certainty, revolutionary energy, and political purity. But what he is actually showing New York is something far more dangerous. A reckless willingness to inflame one of the most volatile issues in public life, target the Jewish state for political theater, and pretend that ideological performance is a substitute for leadership, and his latest stunt says everything.

Mamdani released a video calling on the United States government to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he comes to New York to speak at the United Nations. He wanted the headlines. He wanted the applause. He wanted to look like the mayor who could stand above the law, above diplomacy, and above the basic limits of his own office. And then reality did what reality always does to people who mistake slogans for power, it embarrassed him.

Because Zohran Mamdani cannot arrest Benjamin Netanyahu. He does not have the authority.
