The Issue: Mayor Mamdani mourning murderer Clarence Woodward after his Rikers Island death.
Mayor Mamdani felt compelled to express his sympathy over the death of Clarence Woodward, a cold-blooded killer (“Hizz twisted moral logic backs perps over victims,” Liel Leibovitz, Aug. 28).
He made no mention of the gruesome death of the victim, Jose Miranda, whose family was insulted by the mayor’s omission. This was no oversight but a deliberate political statement, a virtue signal to Mamdani’s legions who share an ideology that views Woodward as a victim of an oppressive society.
Perhaps later on, the Miranda family will be grateful that Mamdani neglected to mention Jose’s death. Who needs sympathy from anyone who has sympathy for the devil?
