But at Runham Vauxhall, west of Great Yarmouth town centre, the village sign has become a fly-tipping hotspot.

The sign stands on Bridge Road, off the A47, where a tree already partly hides it, and there are fears the growing pile of waste could eventually obscure it completely.

Councillor Steve Grimmer, who represents Yarmouth North and Central on Norfolk County Council, said: “Sadly,the sign is now being allowed to disappear behind a pile of rubbish and fly-tipping has been allowed to accumulate around it.”
