The Caister project, proposed for the old youth club site on Norwich Road, has been paused after independent legal advice found the land should legally be treated as protected public open space under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972.

Caister Parish Council, which has already invested in ecological surveys, architect fees, and public consultations, agreed at a meeting on August 10 to halt further progress until a full strategic review is completed.
