The share of plan sponsors covering virtual care increased this year, from 32 per cent in 2025 to 43 per cent in 2026, the highest result since 2021 (41 per cent).

However, only about a quarter (24 per cent) of benefits plan members reported using a virtual-care service in the past year, a slight decline from 28 per cent in 2025 but a significant drop from 43 per cent in 2021, according to the 2026 Benefits Canada Healthcare Survey
