US confirms striking Iran in ‘powerful response’ to attacks targeting American forces

US Central Command announces that it has renewed airstrikes in Iran, in what it calls “a powerful response to yesterday’s attempted Iranian attacks on US forces based in the Middle East.”

CENTCOM doesn’t immediately provide further details on the strikes, which come after US President Donald Trump threatened a response to the Iranian attacks, which broke a lull in fighting that began when he declared a halt to hostilities over the weekend.

The United States is conducting airstrikes in Iran, Axios reports, citing a US official.

Azerbaijan bans two Iranian news outlets after Tehran brands its state TV ‘enemy media’

Azerbaijan bans two Iranian outlets, saying they “act against the national interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan and conduct propaganda against the country’s sovereignty, constitutional order, territorial integrity and national security,” according to the state APA news agency.

The Azerbaijani Media Development Agency calls on all journalists in the country to stop cooperating with the Sahar TV channel and the Mehr News Agency.

The move comes in response to Iran’s Intelligence Ministry listing Azerbaijan’s state AzTV as an ‘enemy media organization.’

Meeting Netanyahu, Democratic senator calls Mamdani ‘worthless’

Meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Democratic Senator John Fetterman calls New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani “worthless.”

“It’s been disappointing as a Democratic politician in how our party continues to behave,” says Fetterman, one of Israel’s most prominent supporters in the Democratic Party.

“And we had the culmination of that where that worthless mayor in New York saying these kinds of ridiculous claims.”

Mamdani called Netanyahu a war criminal and said he should be arrested over the war in Gaza if he visits the city for the United Nations General Assembly.

“As far as I know, I was the only Democrat that was proud to push that trash back,” says the Pennsylvania lawmaker.

Dressed in his trademark shorts and hoodie, Fetterman says he doesn’t understand where the Democrats “have arrived politically.”

“I’m proud to stand with Israel through everything,” he says, adding that he is “proud to remain the conscience of the Democratic Party.”
