The Ken is a digital-media company that pioneered subscription-only independent business journalism in India. Founded by a team of experienced journalists and entrepreneurs, we have published thousands of stories that have been widely discussed, debated, and referenced.

In a world of news outlets obsessed with churning out countless pieces of “content” now enabled by AI, we believe bylines are sacred, and we want to be indispensable to our subscribers every single day by helping them sift through noise. As part of this journey, we are accepting applications to the fourth batch of our Journalism Leadership Programme (JLP) for new graduates.

AI is disrupting many careers. In such an environment, we believe journalism remains far more resilient than most careers. (There is no agentic replacement yet for good, old-fashioned, boots-on-the-ground reporting.) This is also a great chance for curious, self-driven, and ambitious graduates to kick-start their journalism careers in a vibrant, dynamic, and feedback-driven newsroom.

And our first three batches of our JLP, chosen from dozens of applicants, made the most of this opportunity.
