KERAN: Once a sleepy village along the Line of Control, Keran in north Kashmir has scripted a remarkable turnaround, emerging as one of the Union Territory’s fastest-growing tourism hotspots with over 3,000 domestic tourists arriving daily.

The picturesque village, known for its pristine landscapes and the crystal-clear waters of the Kishanganga River, has witnessed an unprecedented surge in visitor footfall over the past few months. Families, nature enthusiasts, trekkers and adventure seekers from across the country are thronging the region, making it one of the most sought-after destinations in North Kashmir.

The revival of tourism in Keran, officials said, reflects the successful synergy between the Indian Army and the Civil Administration, whose coordinated efforts have transformed the once-remote border outpost into a safe, accessible and welcoming destination.
