Nine hospitalized after mass shooting at Cincinnati concert venue
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – At least nine people were hospitalized after a shooting at a Cincinnati, Ohio, nightclub and concert venue early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The shooting happened at around 1 a.m. at Riverfront Live on the city’s East End, according to local outlet WLWT.
Adam Hennie, the city’s interim police chief, told WLWT that multiple shots were fired inside the building where roughly 500 to 600 patrons were in attendance.
He said all nine victims suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds. A local hospital told WLWT that of the eight patients they received from the shooting, six had been treated and released, while two were in stable condition.
As of early Sunday afternoon, Cincinnati police did not have details about a suspect or suspects, noting that the investigation remains ongoing. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) was assisting in the investigation.
The Cincinnati mayor, Aftab Pureval, shared a statement on X.
“Overnight in the East End, our community was victim to a senseless mass shooting. Thank you to the officers on site, the first responders for their immediate action, and all the hospital staff who worked to save lives this morning,” wrote Pureval. “This is unconscionable. Our prayers are with all the victims, and Law Enforcement has our full support to deliver justice. We will continue to keep the public up to date.”
