Greene deletes post criticizing Platner accuser
Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) removed a post on social media in which she criticized the woman who accused Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner (D) of rape.
The post came hours after Jenny Racicot, 41, told Politico that Platner sexually assaulted her five years ago — an allegation that Platner has denied.
In a story published Monday afternoon, Racicot accused Platner of drunkenly entering her home uninvited in 2021 and forcing himself on her despite her repeated refusals. She said the two met on a dating app called Bumble in 2019 and had been in an on-and-off relationship since.
Platner said his campaign would “reflect on the best path forward,” following the story’s publication.
Greene shared a post from Polymarket showing gamblers wagering on whether Platner would drop out of the race in light of the latest scandal.
“If you are raped or sexually assaulted, report it immediately. Don’t wait years later until the man runs for office to go to news outlets to tell your story,” Greene wrote hours after the report was........
