STEVE FINAN: Andy Burnham has made a rod for his own back with Dundee comments

It was very interesting that Andy Burnham picked Dundee as an example of places not listened to by central government at Holyrood and Westminster.

His words were: “The people of Dundee and Bangor feel just as distant from Holyrood and the Senedd as they do from Westminster.”

I couldn’t agree more.

In my opinion, no central government in my lifetime or within my knowledge of local history has given Dundee a fair crack of the whip.

This has been true of the SNP since they took power in Holyrood with the help of Dundee MSPs like Stewart Hosie and Shona Robison.

What does the city have to show for it?

Dundee has been ignored by governments for decades, if not centuries

Even the most ardent nationalist couldn’t point to much evidence of Dundee getting infrastructure or investment as........
