Two lost paragliders off one of California’s most famous beaches found themselves in a harrowing fight for their lives Friday.

The ordeal began midday Friday, when a man and woman on vacation went paragliding near Carbon Beach in Malibu. Also known as Billionaires’ Beach for its many rich and famous coastal residents, the area was badly damaged earlier this year in the LA wildfires.
