It compiled a list of the best American-made cars, SUVs, and pick-up trucks in 2026.

Starting at $24,695, the Civic Hybrid gets 44 mpg and delivers 200 hp, making it noticeably quicker than the standard gas model. CR said it’s both practical and genuinely engaging on the road.

The Camry starts at $29,100 and achieves 48 mpg as an hybrid-only model. CR said it balances a smooth ride, user-friendly interior, and excellent reliability in a way that's hard to beat in its class.

Priced from $26,995, the Crosstrek gets 29 mpg and comes with standard AWD across all trims. It's good on rough roads and has stellar handling.

Starting at $29,995, the Forester gets 29 mpg and CR said it stands out for offering a full mechanical AWD system on its new hybrid trim. It's also roomy, easy to get in and out of, and dependable.

Toyota Grand Highlander

From $41,660, the Grand Highlander's optional hybrid powertrain returns 35 mpg while still managing to fit three full rows of passengers comfortably. CR said its the rare SUV that doesn't force you to choose between space and efficiency.

The X3 starts at $50,900 and delivers 29 mpg. CR said it feels well-crafted and capable without being too flashy.

Starting at $67,600, the X5 gets 23 mpg and has impressive acceleration. The interior is nicely finished, and a plug-in hybrid version is great for drivers whose daily commutes fall within its 39-mile electric range.

Priced from $40,795, the Ridgeline gets 20 mpg and is a far more comfortable ride than most pickups, along with cool features like lockable under-bed storage.

Starting at $37,290, the F-150 gets 19 mpg and offers a V6 hybrid option with great torque for towing. CR liked its spacious cab, straightforward controls, and recently improved reliability.

From $39,990, the Model Y achieves 123 MPGe and CR liked its latest refresh, which made it quieter and gave it a nicer interior. CR said its one of the most popular electric vehicles on the market for good reason, with strong performance and a vast charging network.
