COMMENTARY: Is it really all about the students at UPEI?

The administrators of the University of Prince Edward Island like to remind us all ad nauseum that, according to them, “it is all about the students” at UPEI. I, contrarily, think it is all about administrative arrogance.

As a member of the UPEIFA I call on the UPEI board of governors to meet their obligations with respect to the collective agreement: Adopt and implement the new sexual violence and harassment and discrimination policy pursuant to the negotiated terms of the collective agreement. Enough tedious posturing and pontificating. Pretending that a new policy has even a shred of legitimacy if it is not integrated into the collective agreement is like pretending that UPEI has suddenly become a beacon of warmth and respect for (oh heck, let’s mimic the communications........
