Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) presents Meet the Mottled Duskywing Butterfly, as part of its third annual Passport to Nature, a series of free events and adventures in nature in the Kawarthas. This online presentation takes place Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 6 until 7 p.m.

Biologist Linton will share an overview of the Ontario Butterfly Species at Risk Recovery Team’s work to reintroduce the endangered mottled duskywing butterfly back to places it was formerly found in southwest Ontario. According to a release, this work has included establishing a captive rearing program, habitat restoration, research, and the reintroduction of the species to Pinery Provincial Park and Norfolk County, where the butterfly has been extirpated for more than three decades. Linton’s talk will be followed by a conversation with KLT’s Land Stewardship Manager, Hayden Wilson, on KLT’s work to support mottled duskywing habitat on several KLT nature........
