Hailey Starling and Polo Hume-Behbehani, have run the 15th century George and Dragon in Thurton, near Loddon, for more than a decade.

Now the pair have revealed they will soon step away from the south Norfolk pub to relocate next door to the Dragon's Den bar, part of a neighbouring glamping site featuring seven holiday pods.

In a statement, the landlords said: "As we now go into our final week after 13 incredible years, we just want to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who has walked through our doors.

"Your support, laughter, stories and loyalty have made this pub so much more than just a place to eat and drink.

"While this chapter is coming to a close, it's certainly not goodbye - it's the start of a new beginning.

"We're thrilled to be relocating to 'Dragon Den' Bar, where we'll continue to bring the same spirit, warmth, and great times you've come to know and love, just in a fresh setting."

The final day of trading at the George and Dragon will be Sunday, April 5, after which new tenants are expected to take over.

The George and Dragon, located on The Street in Thurton, dates back to the 1400s and retains a number of historic features including original timber beams, exposed brickwork and a large inglenook fireplace.

The pub seats around 40 people for informal dining and also offers a spacious beer garden and covered terrace.

Owner Patrick John, who has had the pub for more than 30 years, placed it on the market earlier this year seeking a new tenant.

The pub's current social media accounts will soon be rebranded to represent the newly opened Dragon's Den Bar.
