It followed an incident where police were called to reports a man had been stabbed in St Saviours Alley, off Magdalen Street, on January 8.

A man aged in his late teens and a teenage girl were initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

King, of Ryefield Road, Mulbarton, had last week denied both offences and was due to stand trial at Norwich Crown Court on August 3.

But the teen was back in court on Tuesday, March 3, when he pleaded guilty to alternative charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and having an article with a blade or point.

King, who was remanded in custody, will be sentenced on March 25.
