Rickie Lee Gall, 47, had travelled to the country on October 7 last year to meet up with a friend.

He planned to return home 10 days later, but was involved in an incident in the early hours of his departure date.

Mr Gall’s moped overturned at an intersection near the B2 Jomtien Hotel in the Na Chom Thiam sub-district of Sattahip in the Chon Buri Province.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but he was pronounced dead on October 17.
