Norfolk Green breaks rank from tight-lipped colleagues to celebrate 'Zionism' motion
Amber Smith has broken ranks with other Greens from the county by showing support for the vote, which has provoked widespread outrage.
The councillor, who represents Bowthorpe on Norwich City and Norfolk County Council, congratulated the campaign group Greens for Palestine after the motion was passed at the party’s conference on Sunday.
On the Bowthorpe Green Party's Instagram page, which she runs, she shared a post declaring "We have built an anti-Zionist Green Party", commenting: "Well done to @greens4palestine."

She also commended Lubna Speitan, the activist who proposed the motion, who, it has since emerged, was named in court documents as a "close friend" of a man jailed after being accused of plotting a suicide bomb attack at Heathrow Airport.
Ms Smith is the first Green elected representative in Norfolk known to have publicly backed the vote.
After being approached for comment over the post, Ms Smith shared a message online which accused “the British state and the media which serves it” of "coming down on the Palestinians behind the Greens [sic] historic call for liberation".
