Warning issued to be prepared for flash floods in Norfolk despite summer heatwave
Officials at Norfolk County Council have reminded people that flooding can - and does - happen during the summer months and not just in winter.
They point to how, last summer, County Hall's flood and water team received 100 reports of flooding, including 54 cases where water entered buildings.
They say just over a third (35pc) of home insurance flood claims occur between June and August, with almost a quarter (24pc) happening in July and August alone, outside of the traditional October to March flood season.
