The closure will affect Eaton Street in Norwich as Norfolk County Council is set to relocate 20mph zone signs and install speed cushions to improve speed reduction and safety.

The closure will take place from Newmarket Road overnight on Wednesday and Thursday next week from 7pm to 6am.

A signed diversion route will be in place.

For those living on Eaton Hill, access will be available via Newmarket Road, where a gateman will be present.

If leaving Eaton Hill, access will be through the works on Eaton Street.

Those living on the road are encouraged to alert staff on-site ahead of time, if possible.

The council thanked people for their patience during these improvement works and urged the public to contact with any concerns.

The work, costing £15,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council's Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.

The council hopes that the improvements will help to manage speed more effectively as motorists exit Newmarket Road, thereby enhancing safety for all road users.
