The Police National Legal Database (PNLD), which offers legal guidance to forces across the country, is the latest UK public sector outfit to suffer a data breach at the hands of cybercriminals.

The dark web, where officers' personal details have now been published, is a part of the internet that is not indexed by search engines and requires specific tools.
