Norfolk County Council elections 2026: Who is standing where you live?

All 84 divisions at Norfolk County Council are up for grabs in the all-out election - which was delayed from last year.

The Conservatives, Labour and Reform UK - tipped by pollsters to be on the brink of taking control of County Hall - are fielding candidates in every division.

It will be the final set of County Hall elections before the authority, which is currently under Tory control, is abolished as part of a local government shake-up which will see three new councils created.

County Hall leader Kay Mason Billig is looking to be back at County Hall, standing in her Loddon division.

But some of her Tory cabinet colleagues are not standing, including her deputy leader Andrew Jamieson.

Alison Thomas and Penny Carpenter, the cabinet members for adult social care and children's services are also not seeking re-election.

Daniel Elmer, Conservative leader of South Norfolk Council, is keen to retain Forehoe division, while Tim Adams, the Liberal Democrat leader of North Norfolk District Council, is seeking re-election in Cromer.

Alistair Beales, the independent leader of West Norfolk Council is looking to become a county councillor too. He is standing in Dersingham.

The Liberal Democrats, currently the opposition at County Hall, are fielding 80 candidates, with group leader Brian Watkins standing again in Eaton.

However, there's an unusual situation in Costessey, where current Lib Dem councillor Sharon Blundell is not standing for re-election.

Her husband Gary is hoping to replace her at County Hall, but as an independent, with the Lib Dems having selected Terry Laidlaw as their candidate for that division.

Labour group leader Steve Morphew and five other current Labour councillors are not seeking re-election, with only Mike Sands (Bowthorpe) and Chrissie Rumsby (Mile Cross) standing again in their current divisions.

Reform UK took their first seats at County Hall in by-elections last year, through David Bick and Julian Kirk.

The party will be very optimistic of a vastly increased number of councillors at County Hall following the counting of votes.

Rupert Lowe (Image: Press Association)

But their hopes for success in Great Yarmouth could be hampered, given Rupert Lowe's Great Yarmouth First party has candidates in all 12 divisions.

The Greens have candidates in 79 seats across the county and polls predict gains.

Catherine Rowett (Image: Newsquest)

But they do face the prospect of having to select a new leader, as current incumbent Catherine Rowett is not standing in her West Depwade vision this time around.

There have been changes to county council divisions since the last set of elections in 2021.

While the number of divisions remains the same, alterations - designed to make sure each councillor represents roughly the same number of voters - mean some voters have moved into different divisions.

A new Hethersett division has been created, while some divisions, such as the current Caister-on-Sea, Mundesley and Melton Constable wards, cease to exist.

The current political make-up at County Hall is 50 Conservatives, 10 Liberal Democrat, nine Labour, four Greens, three Independent Progressives, three independents, two Reform UK, one Independent non-aligned and two vacancies.
