Kim Kardashian targets youth sports with ‘Team Moms’ — but here’s what she’s missing

There’s a movement afoot to tear down youth sports, particularly the more competitive “travel sports” variety — and Kim Kardashian is aiming to amp up the controversy.

Next week Kardashian debuts her new docuseries, “Team Moms: Baseball,” giving the reality-show treatment to mothers of young athletes at the Legendary Preps Academy in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Sneak-preview ads show the overly-made-up moms and dads oozing unrealistic ambition for their boys while scheming to sabotage each other.

That follows New York magazine’s summer cover story about the pressures of kids’ sports, the Wall Street Journal’s report on their rising costs, and The Post’s own coverage of just how pricey and difficult “club” sports have become.

The Journal’s piece, as is typical, ran down a litany of the insane costs to “survive another year of Little League” nowadays — tallying everything from “sleek composite bats that cost up to $450” and “the coolest sunglasses” to “gloves, helmets, elbow guards, leg protectors, arm sleeves, sliding mitts” and many, many more supposed necessities.

“Also, headbands. Do kids really need a headband if they are always wearing a hat or helmet? Don’t be ridiculous. Of course they do.”
