Trump Blames Nobel Peace Prize Snub For Greenland Threats In Extraordinary Letter

US President Donald Trump

Donald Trump has connected his failure to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to his threats to take over Greenland in an extraordinary letter to Norway’s prime minister.

Since seizing Venezuela, the US president has made it clear he believes the States should “control” the Arctic island too, causing deep alarm among his Nato allies.

He also announced on Saturday that he would slap more tariffs on eight European countries – including the UK – unless they allowed the States to seize the autonomous Danish territory, although the continent has not backed down.

Trump has now claimed his aggression was all down to the Norwegian Nobel Committee who decided not to give him the Nobel Peace Prize last year.

In a letter to Norway’s Jonas Gahr Store, he said: “Considering your Country decided not to get me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

His words come after the committee
