Grab To Buy 60% Of Singapore-Based Atome For $1.5 Billion In Fintech Push

Grab is acquiring a controlling interest in Singapore-based buy-now-pay-later company Atome Financial for $1.5 billion as the ride-hailing and delivery giant deepens its investments in financial services.

The deal, which is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2027, will more than double Grab’s consumer lending across Southeast Asia to a combined gross loan of over $6 billion by 2028 from $2.3 billion as of end-June 2026.

New York-listed Grab will finance the acquisition of a 60% stake in Atome with internal cash. The company also agreed to acquire the remaining 40% equity interest in Atome Financial approximately two years after the completion of this transaction.
