Live Well With Leigh, founded by personal trainer Leigh Purling, opened at Malting Meadow, in Ditchingham, near Bungay, during the coronavirus pandemic.

She had noticed a growing need for a safe, comfortable, and confidence-boosting space for women to train.

On Sunday, April 12, the gym will host a celebratory event featuring back-to-back fitness classes, a sauna and ice bath experience, competitions, goody bags, and refreshments, all designed to showcase what the women's fitness community has built over the years.

Ms Purling said: "Each of our instructors will be teaching a class on the day.

"I thought it would be fun to do a bring a boy or bring a bestie, because not everyone has a boy, so people could come and see the gym and see what our classes are all about, and how they might be harder than what people expect.

"People are welcome to come down on the day and see what we're all about."

Since opening shortly after lockdown restrictions were lifted, Live Well With Leigh has grown to around 105 members, in addition to offering pay-as-you-go sessions, Pilates, and boxing classes.

The gym provides flexible options including gym-only, class-only, and VIP memberships, making it accessible to women of all fitness levels.

Ms Purling said her inspiration came from years of working in local gyms, where many of her female clients reported feeling uncomfortable in certain areas of mixed gyms.

When the Malting Meadow space became available, she saw the opportunity to create something different.

Ms Purling added: "It's a lovely community we've got going on, all of our members are really friendly and I've made friends through the gym.

"It's a wonderful community and it's especially lovely to see our older ladies making friends.

"The gym is for females of all abilities, our oldest member is my neighbour, who is 92, and it's really nice to see the community come together."

The anniversary event is open to both members and newcomers, with visitors encouraged to drop in, explore the facilities, and meet the team.
