10,700 tonne electricity converter lowered into place off the Suffolk coast
ScottishPower Renewables’ first-ever High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) offshore converter station has been installed at East Anglia THREE wind farm.
The HVDC station converts electricity from AC (alternating current) to DC (direct current) - which means it can be transported over long distances more efficiently.
