Kaellem Delanbanque had been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin in Wymondham between June 3 and December 4 last year.

Norwich Crown Court heard the 36-year-old had a "senior management position" in the drugs operation.

Peter Gair, prosecuting, said: "This was a six months month supply of significant quantities of class A drugs."

The prosecutor said he was travelling between London and Norwich and had a “trusted” role in the operation.

Delanbanque, from Birmingham, appeared at court on Friday (March 6) for sentencing.

But the court heard there was a disparity in the view of the crown and that of the defence.

Ralph Gilliam, mitigating, said Delanbanque had been “put under pressure to manage these lines”.

Although the defendant accepts he had a “significant role”, Mr Gilliam said the defendant was engaged by “pressure and coercion and didn’t have any influence on those above him in the chain."

Recorder Nicola Fitches adjourned the case for a basis of plea to be submitted by the defendant together with a prosecution response by March 27.

The case will then be listed either for sentencing or a Newton Hearing - where a judge would need to resolve factual disputes between prosecution and defence.
