Man on the run after Norwich café attack conviction has appeal adjourned
Aivaras Benetas had been due to appeal his conviction after he was found guilty in March last year of wounding following the incident in Woodgrove Parade, Norwich.
The 38-year-old, formerly of Braithwaite Close, Norwich, had denied wounding but was found guilty of the crime following a trial earlier last year.

Benetas, who was also convicted of two counts of witness intimidation, failed to attend his sentencing at Norwich Crown Court on March 27, 2025, and has been on the run ever since.

But despite Benetas still being at large and wanted, an appeal against his conviction was due to be heard at the Court of Appeal in London on Friday (March 6).

But a spokesman said the case has been "adjourned to a date to be fixed".
Norfolk Constabulary has confirmed Benetas "remained outstanding".
As previously reported, Benetas had previously admitted criminal damage after a window at the café was smashed in the incident during October 2018.
Jude Durr, who previously represented Benetas at his trial, told last year's adjourned sentencing hearing the defendant had been "feeling unwell for some days" before going to hospital.
A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
